Three Highway Police Injured in IED Blast in Balochistan’s Nasirabad

At least three highway police  were injured when a roadside bomb targeted their patrol vehicle in the volatile Rabi Qadeer Kot area of Nasirabad district, police said. The blast, caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted along the roadside, struck the police mobile during routine patrol duty. The injured officers were identified as Sub-Inspector Ghulam Murtaza Mangi, Constable Nek Mohammad Bugti, and Constable Haroon.

All three were swiftly shifted to Civil Hospital Dera Murad Jamali for emergency medical care. Hospital sources said the condition of one officer is reported to be critical. Following the attack, heavy contingents of security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the perpetrators.

No group immediately claimed responsibility, but the attack comes amid a surge in militant activity targeting law enforcement personnel in the region. Security officials said efforts were underway to enhance highway surveillance and neutralize sleeper cells operating in Balochistan.
