Three High-Profile Khawarij Arrested in CTD Operation in Hyderabad

In a major counter-extremism breakthrough, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) apprehended three high-profile Khawarij in Hyderabad during a meticulously executed intelligence-based operation, thwarting what officials described as a potentially catastrophic terrorist plot. According to a CTD spokesperson, the raid was conducted in the jurisdiction of Nasim Nagar Police Station, where the Khawarij operatives had been hiding. The suspects were wanted in multiple terrorism-related cases and were actively planning attacks to destabilize public security.

Acting swiftly on actionable intelligence, CTD personnel carried out a targeted operation, arresting all three suspects without resistance. Upon search, authorities recovered a five-kilogram improvised explosive device (IED), three hand grenades, and a cache of illegal weapons from their possession.

“The arrested Khawarij were in the advanced stages of planning a major terrorist attack,” said the CTD spokesperson. “Their capture has averted what could have been a mass-casualty event. This operation marks a critical success in dismantling urban extremist networks.”

The arrested suspects have been shifted to a secure and undisclosed location for interrogation. Investigations are ongoing to trace their facilitators and uncover the full extent of the network to which they belonged.

Security officials lauded the operation, calling it a decisive blow to the Khawarij elements attempting to regroup in urban centers. The CTD reaffirmed its resolve to continue pursuing and eliminating all threats posed by violent extremists across the province.
