Last year, the peaceful life of a young boy named Mussawir Khan Kakar from Quetta was shattered when he was abducted by terrorists linked to the extremist group ISIS. Now, after months of agonising uncertainty, his mutilated body was discovered in Mastung’s Splinji area, revealing the brutal reality of ISIS’s ruthlessness in Balochistan.

According to sources, the boy’s body was found in a severely decomposed and mutilated state, a grim testament to the cruelty inflicted upon him. The family has received the remains and conducted the burial, but official confirmation of Mussawir’s identity awaits the final results of DNA testing.

Law enforcement officials revealed that during an operation targeting ISIS terrorists, a bloodied photograph of a young boy was found on the phone of a slain terrorist. This grim image led them to the location in Splinji where Mussawir’s body was recovered. According to DIG Ittehad Ahmad Goraya, the kidnappers included three individuals, two of whom were Afghan nationals. The ISIS militants had demanded an exorbitant ransom of 12 million dollars for Mussawir’s release, highlighting their callous exploitation of innocent lives for financial gain.

Tragically, the rescue operation ended with the killing of the child, underscoring the extreme brutality of ISIS’s tactics. The family’s last communication with the abductors was during Ramadan, after which all contact was lost, leaving them in torment and despair.

This horrifying incident starkly exposes the ongoing threat ISIS poses not just to Pakistan’s security but to the most vulnerable among us, children like Mussawir, whose lives are destroyed in the name of terror. It calls for urgent action from the government and security forces to intensify operations against these merciless militants and protect the innocent.

Mussawir’s story is a painful reminder of the human cost of extremism, and the nation must stand united against those who seek to spread fear and violence in our communities. The quest for justice for Mussawir and all victims of terrorism continues, demanding vigilance, courage, and compassion.
