Terrorists Will Face Unforgettable Defeat, Vows PM Shehbaz in High-Stakes Security Huddle

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif pledged that terrorists will be dealt such a crushing and exemplary defeat that they would never dare cast an evil eye on Pakistan again.

He made the remarks while chairing a high-level meeting to review the country’s law and order situation. The meeting was attended by federal ministers Azam Nazeer Tarar, Mohsin Naqvi, Ahsan Cheema, Attaullah Tarar, Adviser on Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah, Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, and Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif.

Interior ministers of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Shamsul Haq and Waqar Noon respectively, as well as chief secretaries and Inspectors General of all four provinces, GB, and AJK were also in attendance. Senior officials including the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, and representatives of other concerned departments were present as well.

Addressing the participants, the prime minister said the national campaign to eradicate terrorism from its roots will continue with full force. “We will inflict such a dreadful defeat on terrorists that they won’t dare look toward Pakistan with ill intentions,” he stated.

He added that Pakistan’s enemies are unnerved by the country’s economic progress and commended the efforts of all institutions and provinces in combating terrorism. “The federal government will fully support provinces in enhancing their capacity to eliminate terrorism and extremism once and for all,” he said, stressing the need for unity and cooperation beyond all differences to root out the menace.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the tireless efforts of the country’s brave security personnel who continue to confront terrorists on the front lines.

He also directed all institutions to intensify their efforts against smuggling, particularly human trafficking, and to tighten the noose around such criminal networks. “Smugglers must be brought to justice,” he asserted.

Highlighting the importance of surveillance, he urged the speedy completion of Safe City projects in major urban centres. He also welcomed the collaborative efforts between the federal and provincial governments in formulating a comprehensive counter-terrorism narrative.
