Terrorists carried out an attack reflecting deep hostility toward education by bombing a Government Primary School in the Bettani tribal sub-division of Lakki Marwat, police said on Sunday.
According to police officials, the explosion partially damaged the school building. The incident occurred late at night in the Ali Khel area, which falls within the jurisdiction of Shadi Khel Police Station.
Fortunately, the school was closed at the time of the blast, preventing any loss of life or injuries. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, while security in the surrounding areas has been tightened.
Local residents and members of civil society strongly condemned the cowardly attack, stating that targeting educational institutions for innocent children is an open act of terrorism and clear enmity toward education. They emphasized that such elements aim to sabotage peace, development, and the future of the region.
The attack has once again raised serious concerns about the safety of educational institutions in tribal and conflict-prone areas, as calls grow for decisive action against those seeking to spread fear and undermine learning.
