Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has vowed the complete elimination of terrorists and their facilitators, declaring that no militant will be allowed to hide among the civilian population.

In a strong video statement, Gandapur emphasized the need for unity between the military, police, and government to restore lasting peace in the province, especially in the merged tribal districts, where security remains fragile.

“Unfortunately, peace hasn’t been fully restored in the merged areas. Terrorism is the biggest obstacle to development. The state will not allow terrorists or their supporters to operate freely,” he said.

Gandapur further warned that militants are trying to use civilians as human shields to avoid military action. “They want to hide in homes and neighbourhoods to escape justice, but we will not allow them to use our people as cover. The terrorists and those who help them will be eliminated,” he asserted.

The statement comes amid “Operation Sarbakaf,” a sweeping military offensive underway in Bajaur since July 29. Security forces, operating with extreme caution to prevent civilian casualties, have already killed 17 militants and captured 24 injured.

A curfew remains in effect in 16 villages of Loye Mamund until July 31, as forces continue to flush out remaining threats. The CM also urged the public to stand by the security forces and government, warning of efforts to sow mistrust among them through deliberate conspiracies.

“Anyone attacking our police and forces will be dealt with severely,” he concluded.
