Terrorist Attack in Lakki Marwat Claims Life of Police Personal, Civilians Threatened

A police officer was brutally martyred following a terrorist attack carried out by militants belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij in the Nasr Khel area, within the jurisdiction of Saraye Noorang Police Station, police officials confirmed on Tuesday.

According to police sources, the terrorists launched a targeted assault on the residence of police officer Dastgir. During the attack, the assailants subjected women and children of the household to violence in an attempt to force the family to hand over the officer. Upon refusal, the attackers abducted the police official from his home and later martyred him. Police further reported that the terrorists set fire to the residential room of the police officer, causing significant damage to property and spreading fear among local residents. The attack represents a deliberate act of terror aimed at law enforcement personnel and their families.

Local sources revealed that following the incident, the terrorists conducted armed patrols throughout the village, issuing threats to all police employees. Residents were warned to either resign from their jobs or leave the village, creating an atmosphere of intimidation and coercion. In a particularly alarming development, the militants also threatened to shut down girls’ schools in the area and warned families against sending their daughters to school, signaling a direct assault on education and basic human rights.

Law enforcement authorities have strongly condemned the attack and stated that security measures in the area are being reinforced. Investigations are underway, and efforts are ongoing to bring the perpetrators to justice. The incident underscores the continued threat posed by terrorist groups to peace, public safety, and social stability, and highlights the sacrifices made by police personnel in the line of duty to protect citizens and uphold the rule of law.
