Terrorist Affiliated with Gul Bahadur Group Killed in North Waziristan

A key terrorist affiliated with the proscribed Gul Bahadur Group was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in North Waziristan, with the banned organisation itself confirming his death.

According to security sources, the encounter occurred during a security operation in the district when troops came under fire from terrorists belonging to the outlawed group. During the ensuing gun battle, Umar Madakhel, identified as an important terrorist commander of the Gul Bahadur Group, was killed.

Subsequently, the proscribed organisation acknowledged Umar Madakhel’s killing, confirming that he died during the clash with security forces. Officials said the terrorist was actively involved in subversive activities and posed a serious threat to peace and security in the area.

Following the exchange of fire, security forces cordoned off the locality and launched a search operation to rule out the presence of any other terrorists. Authorities reaffirmed that intelligence-based operations against banned terrorist outfits would continue until the complete elimination of such elements.

North Waziristan remains a key focus of counterterrorism efforts, where security forces have sustained operations to dismantle terrorist networks and ensure long-term peace and stability in the region.
