Lakki Marwat – In a significant anti-terror operation, police in the Gambila area successfully foiled a sabotage attempt by defusing a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) hidden beneath the Kot Kashmir Bridge.
Acting on a tip-off from intelligence sources, the district police chief promptly dispatched a team led by SDPO Ghazni Khel, including personnel from the local police and the bomb disposal squad. Upon reaching the scene, the team discovered a mortar shell rigged with explosives, including a prima card, battery, and battery cells, all configured as part of a remote-controlled device.
Thanks to the skill and precision of the bomb disposal squad, the device was safely neutralised, averting what could have been a major tragedy.
