In a significant counter-terrorism success, Pakistan’s security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Takwara area of Kulachi Tehsil, Dera Ismail Khan, neutralising a major threat posed by Fitna al-Khawarij.
According to official sources, the operation was launched on credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists planning to disrupt local peace and stability. As soon as the troops approached the suspected hideout, khawarij opened fire, prompting a swift and calculated response from the security forces.
In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, a khariji was killed on the spot, while another was injured and captured alive. The body of the deceased khariji has been shifted to a security headquarters for identification and forensic analysis.
The injured suspect is currently in custody, and interrogation is underway, with authorities hoping to gather crucial information on the group’s network and plans.
Initial investigations indicate that the duo was plotting a serious act of terrorism aimed at destabilizing the area’s peace. Security officials say the swift and precise action by the forces prevented a potential tragedy.
Following the shootout, a cordon-and-search operation was launched in the surrounding areas to locate any other possible threats or accomplices.
Security sources have praised local intelligence-sharing and community cooperation, which played a vital role in detecting the militant activity in time. The operation highlights the continued threat posed by remnants of banned outfits, but also underscores the readiness and resolve of Pakistan’s security forces to neutralise such threats.
The successful IBO in Kulachi is a clear message to hostile elements that Pakistan’s security forces remain vigilant and proactive. While the threat persists, **timely operations like these continue to protect civilian lives and preserve peace across conflict-prone regions.
