Fitna Al Khwarij Militants Surrounded as Firefight Rages in Peshawar’s Hassan Khel

Heavy gunfire erupted in the Hassan Khel area of Peshawar, specifically around Faqir Banr, as security forces engaged in an ongoing firefight with Khwarij linked to the TTP’s so-called Peshawar Wilayah.

According to initial reports, several terrorists from the Fitna al-Khwarij faction of the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have been neutralised, with the remaining surrounded by security personnel. The clash began during a targeted operation following intelligence about militant movement in the area.

Security sources confirm that the exchange of fire is still underway, with forces maintaining a strategic perimeter to prevent any escape. The operation is part of a broader crackdown on TTP elements attempting to regroup in settled areas.

Further updates are expected as the situation develops on the ground.

Separately, in the volatile Tirah Valley of Khyber district, militants attacked a security post in Zakha Khel, martyring Lance Havaldar Zulfiqar of the Shoqat checkpoint. The attackers fled after retaliatory fire from security forces. The martyred soldier’s body was transferred to headquarters.

These incidents underscore the ongoing threat posed by militant elements and the sacrifices made by security forces in maintaining regional stability.
