Security forces successfully repelled multiple terror attacks across different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including two infiltration attempts from Afghanistan and coordinated strikes on police check posts in Mohmand, officials confirmed.
In Bajaur, four Khawarij attempting to infiltrate from Afghanistan were killed after Pakistani security forces responded swiftly to the threat. In a separate incident in the Khyber district, another cross-border infiltration attempt was thwarted. One terrorist, later identified as an Afghan national, was neutralised while another sustained injuries during an exchange of fire with security forces.
Meanwhile, twin attacks targeting police check posts in the Mohmand district were also foiled. The attacks occurred in the Lakary area and in Kandahari Aman Ghundai of Safi Tehsil. Security forces responded effectively, repelling both assaults. No casualties have been reported so far in connection with these attacks.
In Kurram district, a landmine explosion resulted in casualties. Details regarding the victims and the exact number of casualties are yet to be confirmed.
Separately, in Bannu’s Domel Bazaar, a police constable was martyred in a targeted killing incident. Constable Qudoos Khan was gunned down by unidentified assailants on a motorcycle.
The funeral prayer for Constable Qudoos Khan was held with full official honours at Police Lines Bannu. The ceremony was attended by DIG Bannu Region Sajjad Khan, DPO Bannu Saleem Abbas Kalachi, SP CTD, SP Investigation, SP Traffic, personnel from Pakistan Army, and a large number of citizens.
Speaking at the occasion, DIG Sajjad Khan affirmed that the sacrifice of the martyred constable would not go in vain and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice. The martyr’s body was later laid to rest in his native village with full state honours.
