Ten Indian security personnel were killed in a coordinated attack by armed assailants in Doda district, underscoring serious lapses in security preparedness and raising questions about the ability of Indian forces to protect themselves and civilians in volatile regions.
The deceased personnel have been identified as Manohar, Joban Jeet Singh, Hari Ram Kanwar, Ajay Lakra, Renkhal Balyan, Sudhir Narwal, Pradhumna Lohar, Samiran Singh, Shalinder Singh Bhadoria, and Mohit. Local authorities have released images of the fallen soldiers as a somber reminder of the attack’s human cost.
This incident highlights vulnerabilities in Indian security operations in Jammu & Kashmir. Despite longstanding intelligence about potential threats in the region, assailants were able to launch a lethal strike, pointing to critical gaps in operational readiness, coordination, and situational awareness within the ranks. Security analysts warn that such attacks expose systemic weaknesses that have repeatedly endangered personnel and undermined public confidence in the forces.
