In a powerful show of national unity and resolve, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Quetta today to meet with the injured survivors of the devastating suicide attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan. The blast, which occurred earlier today, claimed the lives of five people, including three schoolgirls, and left 53 others injured.
According to media reports, eight of the injured children are in critical condition. Prime Minister Sharif, visibly emotional while addressing the media at the hospital, vowed that “India’s malicious attempts to destabilise Pakistan through proxies will be defeated. The entire nation stands firmly behind our security forces.”
He emphasized that both Baloch and Pashtun communities have categorically rejected terrorism and that the time has come for a “decisive battle” against militancy. “Those behind such inhumane attacks on children will be brought to justice. Their end is near,” he asserted.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also spoke, stating unequivocally that the attack was “carried out under Indian sponsorship”. He condemned India’s continued use of state-backed proxies, calling it a “shameful and dangerous regional policy that directly targets innocent lives.”
Several federal ministers accompanying the high-level visit described India as a destabilizing force in South Asia. “India’s real face has been unmasked globally,” they said, promising that “facilitators and financiers of terrorism will face justice.”
The horrific incident took place earlier today when a suicide bomber targeted a school bus near Zero Point in Khuzdar district. Among the martyrs were Sania Soomro (Grade 6), Hafsa Kausar (Grade 7), and Ayesha Saleem (Grade 10).
The Deputy Commissioner of Khuzdar confirmed that initial investigations point to a suicide attacker detonating himself next to the bus. Several children remain in critical condition, and authorities fear the death toll may rise.
As the country reels from yet another tragic attack on its future generation, the leadership’s visit underscores a clear message: Pakistan will no longer tolerate terror—whether at its borders or within.
