In yet another tragic incident of target killing, the lifeless body of Anwar Lehri, a resident of Kalat, has been recovered, marking another act of bloodshed attributed to the banned terrorist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), referred to as Fitna al-Hindustan for its foreign-backed destabilisation efforts in Pakistan.
According to local sources, Anwar Lehri was shot dead in what appears to be a targeted killing. The BLA has openly claimed responsibility for the attack, once again highlighting the group’s brutal disregard for human life and peace in the region. The incident has spread fear across Kalat, as residents express anger and anxiety over the continued terrorist presence.
Police reached the crime scene promptly, collected forensic evidence, and moved the body to a nearby hospital for legal procedures. Security forces have since cordoned off the area and launched a full-scale investigation into the incident.
This targeted killing is part of a broader pattern of terrorism orchestrated by BLA, an organisation that has consistently attacked civilians, infrastructure, and national unity under the guise of separatism. Citizens and civil society are demanding swift, decisive action against these ruthless terrorists who continue to spill innocent blood with impunity.
It is imperative that both federal and provincial authorities treat this case with urgency, pursue the perpetrators and their facilitators, and reinforce law enforcement efforts in Balochistan to ensure such tragedies do not recur.
