Taliban forces engaged in heavy clashes with fighters from the National Resistance Front (NRF) in Afghanistan’s Baghlan province late Tuesday, local sources reported.
The fighting erupted around 9 p.m. in the Kahgdai area of Nahrin district and continued for nearly an hour. While no casualty figures have been independently confirmed, the incident underscores persistent hostilities in the region.
The NRF has yet to release a statement regarding the confrontation or possible losses among its ranks.
Kahgdai remains a longstanding stronghold of the Resistance Front, where previous battles have taken place. In June last year, two NRF commanders; Abdul Samad Kahgdai and Khairullah, were killed in clashes with Taliban forces in the same district.
