A suicide bomber detonated himself at the main gate of the Federal Constabulary Headquarters on Saddar’s Kohat Road on Monday, triggering brief gunfire before security forces neutralised two militants and secured the perimeter, officials said.
According to initial reports, the attacker attempted to force entry into the headquarters before blowing himself up at the gate. Security officials confirmed that two Federal Constabulary personnel sustained injuries in the blast and were shifted to a nearby hospital.
Gunfire erupted immediately after the explosion but ceased shortly after security forces engaged and killed two militants believed to be accompanying the bomber. The area was swiftly cordoned off as personnel initiated a clearance operation to ensure no additional threats remained.
Law-enforcement agencies are continuing investigations into the incident.
