Security forces in South Waziristan prevented a planned terror attack, eliminating six Khawarij and injuring six to seven others, including a suspected high-value target, according to credible sources.
Intelligence had detected a group of around eight Khawarij moving toward a forward security post. Once they were spotted in an open area, multiple precise engagements were conducted. The extremists suffered heavy losses and retreated into nearby forested terrain.
Later updates confirmed that distress calls were made by the group, reportedly seeking help from across the Afghan border, signaling panic and disarray. Among the wounded is believed to be a key figure within the Khawarij network, whose identity is now under verification.
Security forces are maintaining surveillance on the suspected escape routes and conducting follow-up measures to ensure there is no regrouping.
