In a decisive counter-terrorism operation near Chapri Dam, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) successfully neutralized six terrorists, while eight others escaped under the cover of darkness, highlighting the ongoing threat posed by extremist networks in the region.
According to CTD officials, the operation was conducted based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of dangerous terrorist elements in the Mianwali area. During the raid, the terrorists opened fire on the CTD team. In the ensuing confrontation, six terrorists were killed, tragically due to crossfire among their own ranks, underscoring the disarray within the group.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of a substantial cache of weapons and explosives, including: 1 suicide jacket, 3 hand grenades, 3 SMGs, 200 rounds of ammunition and Various explosive materials Authorities confirmed that the identities of the deceased terrorists are being verified, while efforts continue to track and apprehend the eight terrorists who fled.
