The Miryan Police Station in Bannu district came under yet another quadcopter attack by Khawarij , resulting in injuries to six security personnel after the explosive payload detonated.

According to security sources, the injured include two army soldiers, three Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel, and one local police constable.

This marks the latest in a series of drone-style assaults targeting the same police station for over a month, highlighting the evolving threat tactics being used by militant groups in the region.

Notably, the attack comes amid an ongoing security operation in Nurar, a locality falling within the jurisdiction of the same Miryan police station. A curfew remains in place in the area as forces press ahead with the offensive against terrorist elements.

So far, one Khariji in a burqa was neutralized, while the house of a notorious terrorist commander was demolished as part of the operation.

The situation in Nurar had turned particularly tense in recent days when nearly 200–250 militants reportedly infiltrated the area, using mosques, homes, and civilian structures as cover in an attempt to shield themselves with the local population. Swift military response, however, forced them to retreat.

Security operations are ongoing in the region, with heightened vigilance against drone-based threats and a continued focus on uprooting remaining militant networks.
