Seven Khawarij Killed, Army Major Martyred in Dera Ismail Khan Operation: ISPR

Seven Khawarij were killed and a Pakistan Army officer embraced martyrdom during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by security forces in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

According to the ISPR, the operation was launched on confirmed intelligence reports regarding the presence of Indian-proxy Khawarij involved in multiple terrorist attacks in the region. During the exchange of fire, the troops effectively engaged the militants, killing seven of them on the spot.

The military’s media wing said that the slain Khawarij were involved in numerous acts of terrorism targeting security forces and civilians. A large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the site. A clearance operation is underway to ensure the area is fully secured.

The ISPR stated that Major Sibtain Haider, who hailed from Quetta, led his men with exemplary courage and professionalism during the encounter and embraced shahadat while defending the motherland. “Major Sibtain fought valiantly at the front, setting an example of leadership and sacrifice,” the statement added.

Reaffirming the Pakistan Army’s unwavering resolve, the ISPR said that security forces remain fully determined to root out all Indian-backed Khawarij networks and restore lasting peace across the country. “The supreme sacrifices of our brave sons continue to fortify the nation’s spirit and strengthen Pakistan’s collective resolve against the enemies of peace,” it concluded.
