Security Forces, acting on the basis of credible intelligence, conducted an intelligence-based operation in Makran Division, Balochistan, resulting in the apprehension of two underage girls allegedly linked with the proscribed Fitna al-Hindustan/Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) network.
According to preliminary information, the operation was undertaken following the receipt of intelligence regarding the activities of elements associated with the militant network. The two individuals were apprehended during the operation and are currently being dealt with in accordance with the law and established procedures.
Initial investigations indicate that the girls had allegedly been indoctrinated, influenced and prepared by militant elements for carrying out suicide attacks. Their alleged involvement highlights the disturbing tactics employed by terrorist organizations to exploit vulnerable and underage individuals for violent and destructive purposes.
The use of minors for terrorist activities is a grave violation of fundamental human values and represents a particularly reprehensible dimension of militancy. Terrorist organizations and their facilitators increasingly seek to exploit vulnerable individuals through ideological indoctrination, coercion, manipulation and psychological conditioning, ultimately attempting to turn them into instruments of violence.
The apprehension of the two girls has potentially prevented a serious terrorist incident and may also provide investigators with important information regarding the recruitment, indoctrination, facilitation and operational networks associated with the militant organization in the region. Further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the network’s activities, including the identities and roles of individuals involved in the alleged recruitment and preparation of the minors.
Security Forces remain fully committed to protecting the lives and property of the people of Balochistan and to preventing terrorist organizations from using the province as a platform for violence and destabilization. Intelligence-based operations are being conducted to identify and dismantle terrorist networks, facilitators and their support structures while ensuring that all actions are undertaken in accordance with the law.
The incident also underscores the importance of continued cooperation between the security forces, civil administration, local communities and other relevant stakeholders in identifying and countering efforts by militant organizations to exploit vulnerable segments of society.
Security Forces reiterate that terrorism, violent extremism and the exploitation of children for terrorist purposes will not be tolerated. All individuals found involved in recruiting, facilitating, financing, indoctrinating or preparing minors for terrorist activities will be pursued and brought before the competent authorities in accordance with the law.
