In a major counter-extremism breakthrough, Pakistan’s security forces carried out a successful joint targeted operation against the Khawarij in Dera Ghazi Khan, forcing them into retreat after a fierce exchange of fire.The Khawarij, equipped with rocket launchers and heavy automatic weapons, launched an aggressive assault on the security forces. However, the personnel responded with overwhelming strength and tactical precision, compelling the attackers to flee. Reliable reports confirm that several Khawarij were wounded in the engagement.
Following the confrontation, security forces launched an extensive search operation in the area to apprehend any remaining Khawarij operatives who may have gone into hiding.Senior officials praised the operation as a significant blow to the extremist network operating in the region. “The courage and resolve of our security forces have once again proven that no sanctuary will be given to the Khawarij. This operation reaffirms the state’s unwavering commitment to protect its people,” a security spokesperson said.
The security forces reiterated their resolve to continue intelligence-based operations across the region until the complete dismantling of the Khawarij infrastructure.
