Security Forces Neutralize Eight Terrorists in Bannu Operation, Large Cache of Weapons Seized

In a decisive counterterror operation near Kashu Checkpost, Domail, Bannu, security forces killed eight terrorists, recovered six bodies, and injured two militants during a coordinated engagement carried out by the Pakistan Army and Bannu Police, with support from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and local intelligence units.

According to official sources, terrorists opened fire on a CTD and police patrol, prompting a swift and coordinated response. Security forces encircled the militants in a compound, carrying out a clearance operation that led to a heavy exchange of fire. During the engagement, six militants were killed and recovered from the site, while two others were either killed or injured in subsequent confrontations as they attempted to flee.

The operation involved coordinated intelligence support and tactical reinforcement, ensuring minimal risk to civilians and security personnel. One soldier sustained minor injuries and was evacuated in stable condition.

Authorities recovered a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and operational equipment from the militants, including M-4 rifles, SMGs, magazines, rounds, communications devices, personal items, identification documents, foreign currency, and multiple smart devices. Notably, the items recovered included identification linking some militants to foreign networks.

This successful operation highlights the effectiveness of coordinated action between the Army, police, and intelligence agencies in neutralizing terrorist threats and safeguarding local communities. Security forces reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing militants across the region and preventing any threats to public safety.
