Security forces carried out a major operation in Tirah Valley against the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), resulting in the killing of three militants. The action came after authorities received a credible tip-off about the presence of TTP fighters in the area, prompting an immediate cordon-and-search operation.
During the operation, security personnel tightened their cordon around the locality to prevent any escape or reinforcements. The militants engaged in brief resistance but were neutralised before causing any casualties to the forces. Authorities have emphasised that search and clearance operations are continuing to fully secure the valley and eliminate any remaining threats.
Following the incident, the banned TTP confirmed the deaths of its members via its social media accounts, highlighting the ongoing tensions between militants and law enforcement in the region. Officials said the operation reflects the continued resolve of Pakistan’s security forces to target proscribed groups and disrupt their networks, especially in volatile tribal and border areas.
The Tirah Valley, known for militant activity in the past, has remained a focus for counter-terrorism operations, and authorities are maintaining heightened vigilance to prevent further infiltration or attacks.
