Security forces have killed a key facilitator linked to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) during an intelligence-based operation in Qalat district, officials said on Saturday.
According to security sources, the suspect was responsible for supplying medicines, food, and other essential items to BLA militants who were injured during recent attacks in the area. Several BLA operatives had reportedly sustained injuries and fled following clashes with security forces, prompting an ongoing cleanup and search operation.
Acting on credible intelligence, security personnel intercepted the suspect while he was transporting medical supplies and ration items intended for wounded militants hiding in remote locations. During the operation, the suspect attempted to evade arrest and was killed in the ensuing encounter, officials added.
Security forces have intensified intelligence-led actions across the region to dismantle militant support networks, particularly those involved in logistics, medical assistance, and safe movement of insurgents. Authorities believe such facilitators play a critical role in sustaining militant operations.
No casualties were reported among security personnel. A search operation was conducted in the surrounding area to rule out the presence of additional militants or accomplices.
Officials reaffirmed that operations against banned militant outfits will continue until all threats to peace and stability in Balochistan are eliminated.
