Security Forces Foil Major Terrorist Assault in Orakzai, Inflict Heavy Losses on Militants

Security forces successfully repelled a major terrorist attack in Upper Orakzai’s Mamozai area after an intense two-hour exchange of fire, killing several militants and thwarting their attempt to overrun a Frontier Corps post. According to sources, terrorists launched a coordinated assault on the Frontier Corps post in the Hala Kadda area, triggering fierce retaliation from the troops stationed there. The attackers were met with overwhelming firepower, forcing them to retreat after suffering heavy casualties.

During the engagement, several soldiers of the Frontier Corps fought valiantly, embracing martyrdom while defending the post. The fallen heroes were identified as Havaldar Abdul Rehman, Naik Azeem Shakoor, Sepoy Imtiaz, Sepoy Fayyaz, Sepoy Abdul Basir, and Sepoy Kamil Shah, all belonging to the 216 Wing of Orakzai Scouts. Their comrades swiftly secured the area and evacuated the injured to a nearby medical facility. Sources confirmed that multiple terrorists were neutralised in the exchange, and a large-scale search operation has been launched to eliminate remaining militants in the surrounding mountainous terrain. The terrorists’ losses are believed to be significant.

The latest clash comes amid a sustained counterterrorism operation in the tribal districts, where security forces have intensified actions against Fitna-e-Khawarij networks operating along the border regions. Over the past week, more than 40 militants have been killed in targeted strikes, while several of their hideouts have been dismantled.

Officials reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain steadfast in their resolve to eradicate terrorism and safeguard national security. “Our soldiers continue to demonstrate unmatched courage and professionalism. The nation stands united behind its defenders as they fight to ensure lasting peace,” a senior security official said.
