In a major counterterrorism operation, security forces successfully thwarted a Khawarij plot in the Azamabad area of Tank district, eliminating four armed operatives during a fierce exchange of fire. Acting on credible intelligence, the forces engaged the militants in a sustained gun battle. As a result, four Khawarij were neutralized, dealing a significant blow to their network operating in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Following the clash, security personnel recovered two bodies, three SMG rifles, and two motorcycles from the site, while two other bodies were carried away by retreating accomplices. The area was immediately cordoned off and a comprehensive search operation was launched to track down any remaining militants and dismantle their support infrastructure.
Officials confirmed the operation is part of an ongoing and intensified campaign to eradicate Khawarij presence and ensure long-term peace in the region.
