Alert and intelligence-driven operations by Pakistan’s security forces successfully foiled an exfiltration attempt by Fitna Al Khawarij (FAK) terrorists near the international border in the Wachapala area of Orakzai. The prompt action by the forces prevented a potential cross-border escape and neutralized an imminent threat to national security.
According to operational reports, on 9 February 2026, security personnel detected a coordinated movement of FAK militants attempting to infiltrate across the international border, crossing from Pakistan to Afghanistan. Acting on real-time intelligence, the forces immediately established a tactical ambush at the targeted location.
A fierce exchange of fire ensued between the security forces and the militants. The professional and decisive response of the troops resulted in the elimination of five FAK terrorists, while three to four militants sustained serious injuries. The operation demonstrated the high level of preparedness, vigilance, and operational efficiency of the security forces deployed in sensitive border areas.
This operation underscores the continued resolve of Pakistan’s security institutions to safeguard the nation against extremist and terrorist elements, disrupt their networks, and prevent cross-border movement that could threaten regional stability. The success of this mission reflects not only the courage and skill of the troops on the ground but also the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations in combating terrorism.
Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing terrorists relentlessly, dismantling their support structures, and ensuring the safety of civilians living in border and conflict-prone areas. Security agencies emphasized that proactive measures, timely intelligence, and coordinated field operations remain crucial in safeguarding national security and maintaining law and order.
The public is urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with local authorities, as community awareness continues to play a vital role in early detection and prevention of extremist activities.
