Security forces successfully neutralised three members of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Khawarij network in Kurram district, two of whom were Afghan nationals, during an operation on Monday. One Khariji was captured alive in an injured condition.
The group had infiltrated from across the Afghan border with the intent to target civilians in Pakistan. Swift action by security forces led to their elimination, while the injured militant was apprehended during the operation.
In a display of military professionalism, the Pakistan Army provided the captured militant with immediate medical treatment, despite the fact that the infiltrators had crossed over to spread violence and bloodshed. The operation underscores Pakistan’s continuing resolve to deny safe havens and eliminate cross-border Khawarij threats while ensuring protection of its citizens in affected areas.
