Security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in the Hasan Khel area of Mir Ali, North Waziristan, eliminating three Khawarij affiliated with the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and injuring two others. According to initial reports, the neutralized individuals were identified as Afghan nationals.
The operation was launched after surveillance footage confirmed the Khawarij planting improvised explosive devices (IEDs), with military MRAP vehicles as their intended targets. Security forces, utilizing real-time intelligence and surveillance cameras, closely monitored their movements before launching a swift and targeted response.
The Khawarij were reportedly attempting to extract their injured accomplices using a rickshaw when they were intercepted by security forces. Precision mortar fire was employed during the operation, effectively neutralizing the threat and thwarting their plans to carry out sabotage against the armed forces.
The successful engagement highlights the continued vigilance and operational readiness of Pakistan’s security forces in countering threats posed by the TTP and other hostile actors operating with cross-border support.
