In a significant development in the ongoing fight against extremism, security forces successfully eliminated Khawarij Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander Jarrar Bettani along with two of his close associates during a targeted intelligence-based operation in the Gul Imam area of District Tank.
According to security officials, the operation was launched following credible intelligence regarding the presence of the wanted Khawarij commander and his accomplices. Jarrar Bettani had been actively involved in orchestrating attacks on law enforcement agencies, civilians, and vital national installations, and was considered a key figure in the TTP’s operations in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The successful elimination of Bettani and his aides is seen as a major blow to the TTP’s regional network. Security forces remain committed to uprooting the Khawarij elements threatening peace and stability in the region.
