Security forces have intensified counterterrorism operations across Balochistan, killing at least 66 terrorists and destroying multiple hideouts in a series of coordinated actions aimed at eliminating militant networks from the province.

According to security sources, the operations were conducted over the past several days in several key districts, targeting both active cells and known hideouts of proscribed organisations.

Breakdown of terrorist casualties by district includes 13 militants killed in Kech; seven in Mastung, five in Tump, including a key commander, Zahid Saleh, 11 in Panjgur and Turbat combined, and 30 terrorists eliminated in Machh, making it the deadliest single location in this wave of operations

The forces also confirmed that multiple terrorist safe houses were destroyed, along with the recovery of arms, ammunition, and intelligence material crucial to disrupting future plots.

“These operations reflect the resolve of the Pakistani state to pursue every last terrorist. The mission will continue until the complete eradication of terrorism from our soil,” an official statement read.

The large-scale operation underscores Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to maintaining internal security, especially in Balochistan, which has seen persistent militant activity fueled by foreign-backed insurgencies and separatist elements.

No casualties to security personnel have been reported so far, and search-and-clearance operations are reportedly still underway in certain areas to ensure the region remains secure and stable.

The government has reaffirmed that such actions are part of a broader, long-term strategy to restore lasting peace in Balochistan and prevent hostile groups from gaining ground or spreading disinformation.
