Security forces conducted major intelligence-based operations in Spinwam area of North Waziristan, killing 34 militants and destroying two safe hideouts, security sources said.
According to officials, intelligence inputs indicated the presence of militant elements linked to two groups operating in the region. One hideout was located in Shah Zaman Kot area associated with the former Ghazi group, while another was identified in Abakhel linked to the former Baitullah Farooq network.
Following receipt of the information, security personnel of Pakistan Army launched targeted intelligence-based operations in the suspected locations within North Waziristan.
During the operation, 14 militants were killed in Shah Zaman Kot while 20 others were neutralized in the Abakhel area, bringing the total number of militants killed to 34, officials said.
Security sources confirmed that both militant hideouts were completely destroyed during the action. Weapons, ammunition and other materials were also reportedly recovered, though detailed inventory information was not immediately released.
Officials reiterated that counterterror operations would continue until the complete dismantling of remaining militant networks operating in the region. Authorities expressed determination to sustain pressure against extremist elements until security is fully stabilized in the frontier belt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The statement emphasized that security forces remain committed to continuing operations against militant groups while maintaining operational readiness and defensive vigilance across sensitive districts.
