Security forces eliminated 19 Khawarij in three separate intelligence-based operations conducted across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on September 9 and 10, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday. According to the ISPR, the first operation took place in the Guluno area of Mohmand district, where troops engaged the reported presence of Khawarij. Following an intense exchange of fire, 14 Indian-sponsored Khawarij were killed.
In another operation in Datta Khel, North Waziristan, security forces neutralized four more Khawarij after a heavy gun battle. Separately, in Bannu district, one Khawarij was killed in an encounter with the forces. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the eliminated Khawarij, who had been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the region, the ISPR stated.
Sanitization operations are continuing in the cleared areas to ensure the elimination of any remaining Khawarij. The ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in their determination to wipe out the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism and restore lasting peace in the country.
