Security Forces Eliminate 10 Terrorists in North Waziristan; Foil Major Suicide Attack

Security forces eliminated ten terrorists, including key commanders of the militant faction Fitna al-Khawarij, during two separate intelligence-based operations in North Waziristan, successfully thwarting a major suicide attack, official sources said on Friday.

According to security officials, the first operation was launched in the Datta Khel area after intelligence reports indicated the presence and movement of terrorists in the surrounding localities. The forces kept the area under close surveillance for over a week before launching a precise strike. During the fierce exchange of fire, six India-backed terrorists were killed while three others sustained injuries.

Among those killed was Mehboob alias Muhammad, a notorious commander of Fitna al-Khawarij. Security officials said the successful operation was part of the ongoing counterterrorism drive aimed at eliminating peace spoilers and ensuring long-term stability in the region.

In a separate incident, security forces foiled a major suicide attack in Mir Ali. A terrorist driving an explosive-laden vehicle attempted to ram it into the perimeter wall of a security forces’ camp, triggering a powerful explosion. In the ensuing chaos, three other terrorists tried to storm the camp but were shot dead in a swift and courageous response by the troops. The prompt action prevented any loss of life or damage to the camp.

Security sources further disclosed that during the past four days alone, as many as 94 terrorists sent by the Afghan Taliban have been neutralized in a series of successful operations across the region. They reaffirmed that under the National Action Plan, security forces and the public remain united in their resolve to eliminate terrorism without distinction, ensuring peace and stability across the country.
