Russia has expressed concern over rising tensions between Pakistan and the Taliban, warning that the situation could escalate into a full-scale conflict.

Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s presidential envoy for Afghanistan, told a Russian newspaper that Moscow is monitoring the situation closely and urged both sides to avoid further escalation.

Kabulov emphasized that Russia maintains cordial relations with both Pakistan and the Taliban and would be willing to act as a mediator if formally requested by both parties.

He added that Moscow seeks a compromise solution to end the ongoing conflict and encourage a shift toward diplomacy, while underscoring that Russia does not intend to impose its will on the parties involved.

The statement reflects Russia’s ongoing interest in regional stability and its potential role as a diplomatic intermediary in South Asia.
