The use of self-made, unguided and uncontrolled rockets by the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has once again exposed the group’s open hostility towards civilians, as images circulated by Khawarij-linked social media accounts themselves reveal that these weapons lack both targeting accuracy and operational control, resulting in repeated impacts in residential and civilian areas.
According to the material shared online, the rockets employed by the Khawarij are crude, improvised devices with no guidance system, making them incapable of hitting any defined military objective. As a consequence, these projectiles frequently fall into populated localities, placing the lives of children, women and unarmed civilians at grave risk and causing avoidable destruction.
Observers note that this pattern of indiscriminate violence underscores the real objective of the TTP, which is not armed confrontation but the deliberate killing of innocent people and the spread of fear and instability within society. The repeated use of such weapons in or near civilian settlements is being viewed as clear evidence of terrorism rather than any form of resistance.
It has further been pointed out that after civilian casualties occur due to these uncontrolled rockets, Khawarij elements routinely attempt to deflect responsibility by falsely blaming security forces, despite the fact that their own propaganda material exposes the reckless and unregulated nature of the weapons they deploy.
Security analysts say the continued reliance on such methods reflects the group’s complete disregard for human life and international norms, reinforcing the need for public awareness about the true nature of the violence being perpetrated under the guise of militancy.
