Sindh Rangers, acting on intelligence reports, arrested three key militants of the Khawarij network during a targeted operation in Kanwari Colony along Manghopir Road. According to a Rangers spokesperson, the arrested men were close associates of Khawarij commander Shamsul Qayyum alias Zawil alias Zafran. During interrogation, they admitted to supplying local residents’ contact numbers to the militant leader, who then used them for extortion calls.
The spokesperson said the suspects also confessed to involvement in extortion and land grabbing. One of the arrested men, Noor Zada, is the brother of slain militant Khan Zada alias Hanzala, while another, Hazrat Usman, is the brother of Umar Khitab both killed Khawarij operatives.
The third suspect, Zaidullah alias Zaido, was also wanted by the Excise Police, Korangi, and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), the spokesperson added. The detainees have been handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
