A railway employee was martyred in an explosion targeting a railway track in Naseerabad district, officials confirmed on Thursday. According to SSP Naseerabad, the martyred gangman was identified as Imdad Hussain, who was performing routine patrolling duty along the railway line when the device detonated. The powerful blast killed him on the spot.
Officials said the explosion caused partial damage to the railway track, disrupting train operations. The Jaffar Express, arriving from Peshawar, was halted at Jacobabad railway station as a safety precaution following the incident. A Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) was summoned from Jaffarabad to examine the site and determine the nature and intensity of the explosion. Security personnel cordoned off the area and launched a search and clearance operation to track down the perpetrators.
Authorities strongly condemned the attack, terming it a cowardly act of sabotage aimed at targeting critical national infrastructure and undermining public security. Officials reaffirmed that such incidents would not deter efforts to ensure the safety of railway operations and to bring those responsible to justice.
