Punjab Police has successfully continued its nationwide operation to repatriate foreign nationals residing illegally across the province, including the provincial capital, Lahore. According to the official spokesperson of Punjab Police, over 34,000 foreign nationals, predominantly Afghan citizens, have been repatriated to their countries of origin under the ongoing initiative.
The spokesperson confirmed that law enforcement authorities are maintaining strict oversight, with 201 individuals currently being held at designated holding points pending deportation.
Detailed figures released by Punjab Police reveal that among those repatriated, 13,000 are men, 6,868 are women, and over 14,000 are children. The operation has ensured that individuals with varying legal and residency statuses are appropriately processed. Specifically, the figures include 10,665 individuals possessing valid residency documentation, 11,114 Afghan citizens holding official Afghan Citizen Cards, and 12,206 foreign nationals identified as residing illegally without proper documentation.
The Punjab Police emphasized that the initiative is part of a coordinated effort with federal authorities to ensure the lawful management of foreign nationals in the province, enhance public security, and uphold immigration laws. Officials stated that the operation is conducted with full adherence to legal procedures and humanitarian considerations, ensuring that vulnerable groups, including women and children, receive necessary care during repatriation.
The spokesperson highlighted that Punjab Police remains committed to enforcing immigration regulations while maintaining the dignity and rights of foreign nationals, and encourages cooperation from local communities in reporting illegal residency. The authorities also reassured the public that all deportation and holding processes are transparent, legally compliant, and aimed at strengthening provincial and national security.
