Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Summons National Command Authority Meeting

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has summoned a meeting of the National Command Authority (NCA), the principal policy-making body on the country’s nuclear programme and strategic assets.

The meeting will be held in Islamabad and will bring together the relevant civil and military leadership. As head of the NCA, the Prime Minister is expected to preside over discussions focused on issues related to Pakistan’s strategic capabilities and the security framework governing its nuclear programme.

The National Command Authority is responsible for policy formulation, control, and oversight of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal. It functions under the guidance of the Prime Minister and plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the country’s nuclear command and control structure.
