Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Rawalpindi on Youm-e-Tashakkur (Day of Gratitude) to meet the brave soldiers and civilians wounded during Maarka-e-Haq—the Battle for Truth—under Operation Bunyān Marsūs.
The Prime Minister inquired after the well-being of the injured and expressed profound admiration for their courage, resilience, and unwavering sense of duty. He paid glowing tribute to the troops who stood firm on the frontlines and the civilians who endured the hardships of this historic national struggle.
“The way Pakistan’s Armed Forces and the entire nation have fought this war is unmatched in history,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. “The resolve of our people and the sacrifices of our soldiers have written a decisive chapter in the military history of our country.”
The visit underscored the nation’s gratitude toward its defenders and reaffirmed the unity between the civilian leadership, the military, and the people of Pakistan. Both the Prime Minister and the Army Chief conveyed that the injured are national heroes, whose sacrifices will never be forgotten.
The occasion, observed as Youm-e-Tashakkur, served as a solemn reminder of the price paid for peace, and a celebration of the courage that continues to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and integrity.
