President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, delivered a powerful tribute to the Pakistan Army during his address to officers and soldiers at Gujranwala Cantonment, declaring that the nation is especially grateful to Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, “who has the courage to look the enemy in the eye.”
In a stirring address marked by gratitude, resolve, and patriotic fervor, President Zardari conveyed his heartfelt salute and congratulations to the troops, saying, “My salute reaches every soldier standing guard over this sacred soil. Our martyrs are triumphant, for this land is our pride — without it, we are nothing.”
The president praised the armed forces for their recent operational success, calling it a blessing from Allah and a message of strength to the international community. “You have not only achieved success — you have sent a clear message to the world. India must now understand what it truly means to face Pakistan’s real soldiers,” he said.
He emphasized that in moments of adversity, the Pakistani nation stands united in its willingness to sacrifice everything for the defence of the homeland. “In every trial, every Pakistani is ready to lay down life and wealth for Pakistan,” he stated.
Rejecting any notion of submission, President Zardari declared, “The slavery of the enemy is unacceptable to any self-respecting Pakistani. We are proud of our armed forces and, in particular, grateful to the Army Chief who leads with dignity and defiance. Under his leadership, we have shown that Pakistan is one country, one nation, and a proud Islamic republic.”
Concluding his address, the president said, “We live with the spirit of martyrdom in our hearts. May your spirit remain ever high, your resolve ever firm.”
