Pakistan’s security forces successfully carried out two intelligence-driven operations in the Dattakhel–Bannu region on 8 January, resulting in the elimination and incapacitation of several terrorists affiliated with the Fitna Al-Khawarij network, officials confirmed.
The first engagement occurred around 1805 hours when security personnel deployed in the Dattakhel area detected suspicious movement by a group of 10–12 terrorists. Acting on credible intelligence, troops engaged the militants with precision and coordination. The encounter resulted in the elimination of 3–4 terrorists, effectively disrupting their planned operations and degrading the network’s capabilities in the region.
Later the same day, at approximately 1905 hours, troops stationed near Kut Kalley village in Dattakhel came under sporadic small-arms fire from 4–5 Kharji terrorists. Security forces responded swiftly and effectively, neutralizing one terrorist on the spot and injuring 2–3 others, preventing potential attacks on personnel and civilians.
Officials highlighted that both operations were the result of actionable intelligence, meticulous planning, and the professionalism of the deployed forces. These engagements underscore the unwavering resolve of Pakistan’s security apparatus to detect, engage, and dismantle terrorist networks operating in border regions and areas of strategic concern.
Authorities confirmed that operations were conducted in strict adherence to operational protocols, minimizing collateral risk and ensuring civilian safety. All necessary post-operation measures, including area clearance and intelligence exploitation, were carried out to prevent further threats.
