An attack on a police mobile patrol of Domel Police Station was carried out by elements of Fitna-al-Khawarij within the jurisdiction of Domel Police Station; however, due to the timely, brave, and professional response of the police, the attack was successfully thwarted.
According to details, the Domel police mobile unit was conducting routine patrol duties near Company Road when terrorists, who were already lying in wait, opened indiscriminate fire on the police party. The police personnel responded immediately with courage and tactical skill, engaging the attackers in a decisive exchange of fire.
Upon receiving information about the incident, additional contingents, including an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC), Quick Response Force (QRF), and Rapid Response Force (RRF), were promptly dispatched from Police Lines Bannu to reinforce the area and assist in the operation.
A fierce gun battle between the police and the terrorists continued for approximately twenty minutes. As a result of the effective and coordinated action by the police, the attackers were neutralized, and the assault was foiled without allowing the terrorists to achieve their objective.
Following the encounter, a comprehensive search operation was launched in the surrounding area. During the operation, the bodies of two terrorists were recovered. Weapons and ammunition were also seized from their possession, indicating their involvement in terrorist activities.
The deceased terrorists’ bodies have been shifted to KGN Hospital for completion of legal and medico-legal formalities. After the incident, the entire area was cordoned off, and a search and clearance operation is currently underway to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining threats and to maintain law and order.
