A police officer was martyred after unidentified terrorists opened fire in the Jiwani Panwan area of Gwadar, security sources confirmed.
According to officials, the officer was patrolling on a motorcycle when the attackers targeted him, resulting in his immediate death at the scene. A second officer riding with him was seriously injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, the attackers fled, prompting police and security forces to launch a search operation in the surrounding areas. Checkpoints were established on exit routes, and combing operations were conducted in nearby localities to apprehend the suspects.
Authorities confirmed that an investigation has been initiated, and forensic teams are reviewing evidence from the scene. Security officials noted that such targeted attacks highlight ongoing challenges in Gwadar and Balochistan’s broader security landscape, particularly for patrolling police personnel.
