In a significant security operation in Bannu’s Baka Khel area, police forces engaged in a firefight at a TDP camp, resulting in the death of Khariji  commander Ibrahim, also known as Zabihullah, who was affiliated with the Majlis-e-Askari group.

According to security sources, the police had received actionable intelligence regarding the presence of armed militants at the Baka Khel camp. A targeted raid was launched aiming to neutralize threats and prevent potential attacks on nearby communities.

During the operation, Ibrahim and his associates reportedly opened fire on the police team, prompting a swift counter-response. In the ensuing exchange, Ibrahim was killed, while additional members of the group were reportedly apprehended or dispersed.

Officials emphasized that the action dealt a significant blow to Khwarij operational capabilities in the region. “The elimination of Ibrahim demonstrates the resolve and readiness of our law enforcement agencies to protect citizens and disrupt militant networks,” a senior police official said.

Authorities confirmed that further clearance operations are underway to ensure no remaining militants are present in the camp or surrounding areas. Security forces have maintained heightened vigilance across Bannu and adjacent districts to prevent any retaliatory attacks.

This encounter comes amid ongoing operations against Fitna al-Khwarij and affiliated militant elements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, highlighting sustained efforts to dismantle networks that threaten regional security.
