Police and Local Community Conduct Joint Operation in Takhti Khel; Two Khawarij Killed, Four Arrested

In a decisive joint operation, local police and community members successfully neutralized two Khawarij and four arrested in the Takhti Khel, located at the convergence of Bannu and Lakki Marwat districts. Security sources confirm that the operation is ongoing as authorities conduct a thorough search of the area to prevent further threats.

The action was initiated following credible reports of Khawarij presence in Takhti Khel. In response, local residents collaborated with police forces, leading to an exchange of fire that resulted in the elimination of two armed Khawarij. Security officials have instructed Bannu police to advance to the site to support continued operations and secure the area.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu, Sajjad Khan, noted that the operation was launched after Khawarij reportedly attacked civilians using a quadcopter the previous day, causing injuries to several children. “Following that attack, we intensified our efforts to ensure the safety of local communities,” he said.

Authorities report that four additional Khawarij were arrested during the ongoing search operations. The RPO emphasized that remaining elements are likely to face further decisive action as the operation progresses.

Due to the heightened threat level, the security situation in Takhti Khel has been placed on high alert, and law enforcement agencies are conducting extensive search and clearance operations to neutralize any residual Khawarij in the area.

The joint operation between police forces and local residents demonstrates a coordinated and proactive approach to countering Khawarij activity, reinforcing the commitment of security agencies to maintain public safety and stability in sensitive border regions.
