Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm resolve to eliminate terrorism from its roots through a comprehensive and multi-dimensional strategy.

Chairing a high-level meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism and State Authority Steering Committee, the prime minister reviewed ongoing operations and coordination mechanisms to enforce the writ of the state.

The meeting was attended by Field Marshal Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, National Security Advisor Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik, along with senior federal and provincial officials.

The committee directed strict implementation of its recommendations to enhance coordination between federal and provincial governments in the fight against terrorism.

Paying tribute to the valiant role of Pakistan’s armed forces, Prime Minister Shehbaz said the world recognises the country’s successful counter-terrorism operations, particularly Operation Zarb-e-Azb and Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, which crushed terrorist networks and restored stability in the region.

He further emphasized that the government is pursuing a comprehensive, actionable, and result-oriented strategy to eradicate all extremist elements, including what he referred to as “Fitna-e-Hindustan” and “Fitna-e-Khawarij.”

Highlighting the link between security and economic stability, the prime minister noted that anti-smuggling measures have improved economic indicators, and that a terror-free, peaceful Pakistan is key to restoring international investors’ confidence.
